Standard Massage:

Swedish Massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.

Deep Massage. This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.

Sports massage. This is similar to Swedish massage, but it's geared toward people involved in sports activities, physical fitness, and other athletic training to help prevent or treat injuries and release tight muscles.

Specialty Massage:

Be You Massage. Maria’s signature service massage, the Be You Massage combines different modalities and services to meet your every need. From Reiki to deep tissue and anywhere in between, Maria will create an overall healing approach to your massage that will leave you feeling like a million bucks.

MLD Therapy. Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapy is a gentle touch treatment that improves the function of the lymphatic system. MLD re-routes lymph flow around blocked areas and is an effective treatment for post-surgical swelling, post-traumatic edema (as with sports injuries), migraine headaches, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other conditions. Maria is MLD certified.

Reiki Therapy. This healing, spiritual art works by channeling positive energy into your body. Maria will gently place her hands on or above the affected areas of your body that need healing. This energy shift allows your body to absorb the powerful flow of energy to ease tension, release stress, and cleanse negative energy from your body.

Lymphatic Therapy

What is the Lymphatic System?

The lymphatic system is a network of tissues, vessels and organs that work together to move a watery fluid called lymph back into the circulatory system.
Liters of plasma flow through the body’s arteries and smaller arteriole blood vessels and capillaries every day. After delivering nutrients to the body’s cells and tissues and receiving their waste products, about the majority of plasma liters are returned to the circulation by way of veins The remaining liters seep through the capillaries and into the body’s tissues. The lymphatic system collects this excess fluid, now called lymph from tissues in the body and moves it along until it’s ultimately returned to the bloodstream.

Lymphatic System Functions

-Maintains fluid levels in the body: as described, the lymphatic system collects excess fluid that drains from cells and tissue through your body and returns it to the bloodstream, which is then recirculated through the body.

-Protects your body against foreign invaders: the lymphatic system is part of the immune system. It produces and releases lymphocytes (white blood cells) and other immune cells that monitor and then destroy the the foreign invader - such as bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi, that may enter in the body.

-Transports and removes waste products and abnormal cells from the lymph.
